You have likely not even noticed but in the last couple of months, I have received an increased amount of spam comments (not to be confused with 'anonymous comments'), where random accounts will post random things like "I think you'd be really interested in this." or "Security alert here!".

To protect my dear readers and alleviate my annoyance at having to locate and delete these each and every time it happens before someone unwittingly clicks on that bolded and underlined word indicating a hyperlink that will surely lead to total technical destruction, I have decided to enable 'word verification for comments'.

I know, I know, it's annoying, a real pain in the arse. Believe me, I get it! I totally hate it when others have it enabled. Oh...you have word verification enabled on your blog? Well...now you know I always thought it was a pain in the arse and was left annoyed at having to decipher characters that made up (most of the time) meaningless words. Though I must confess that at times the words were so random that they actually created a word that made me giggle, like the time I was asked to type something that looked and sounded like something really naughty. In those cases, at least, the resulting giggle made up for the annoyance of having to slow my comment-posting-flow as I pecked out the characters in a sequence that foiled all finger muscle memory.

So, for those of you that have not yet converted to 'word verification for comments' please know I FEEL YOUR PAIN! and am doing this (said in best parent voice) because I love you and want to protect you.

For the rest of you who already have word verification, neener-neener-neener! Now you can be annoyed and have your comment-posting-flow interrupted. :-P (Love ya!)
